Our Pastor

David Fleming has been the pastor of New Hope Fellowship for the past 27 years. He began as a licensed lay pastor in 1993. As a bi-vocational pastor, he was the interim pastor until our official incorporation in 1998. At that time, he was ordained and was called as pastor. Brother David earned Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees from what was then Southwest Texas State University and continued graduate studies at the University of Texas. He taught high school English for 35 years. He has published two novels and has written for magazines and newspapers. He and his wife Gail have been married for 49 years. They have two married daughters and three grandchildren. Bro. David's ministry focuses on the Word of God and its application in everyday life. He knows how important it is to maintain a lifestyle based on faith and the teachings of Jesus.

the fundamentals of Bro. David's ministry include:

​​* That the God of the Hebrew Bible is the creator and protector and savior of the universe. Genesis 1
* That God created man in His image. Genesis 1: 26-28
* That God established Heaven and Hell as real places. Matthew 5: 29-34
* That there is no in between after death. 2 Corinthians 5: 8
* That there is no salvation for the lost after death. Luke 16: 19-31
* That Jesus is the predicted Messiah, born of a virgin, performed miracles, taught the New Covenant, and died on the cross for our sins. Matthew 16: 13-19
* That Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. John 14: 1-7
* That God hides forever the sins we confess and are forgiven. Psalm 103: 12
* That salvation is an act of grace, is forever, is a certainty, and happens immediately upon repentant faith in Jesus as the redeeming Son of God. Romans 8: 38-39; 10: 8-11
* That the saved have an obligation to be fruitful for the Kingdom. John 15: 8
* That God uses imperfect people to achieve his purpose. 1 Corinthians 1: 26-29
* "That all things work together for good to those who love God, who are called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28
